SOS International elected the world's best assistance organisation

For the fourth time in only seven years the Nordic owned assistance company SOS International has been elected the world's best in its field.

Nordic owned SOS International based in Copenhagen was for the fourth time in seven years elected the world's best assistance organisation in the category 'Assistance/Claims Handler of the Year'. The ITIJ Awards ceremony took place in Budapest on 14 November where SOS again received international acclaim.

The awards show is arranged by the trend-setting global insurance magazine International Travel Insurance Journal which is read by more than 20,000 people from the insurance business all over the world. The prize, which is considered the counterpart of the Oscar of the film industry, was instituted in 2002 and this year SOS won over two major European assistance companies.

Setting the standard

Bo Uggerhøj, CEO of SOS International, considers that the honour is recognition of employees, customers and owners.

- "We are up against a great number of businesses from all over the world, many of them are a thousand times bigger that SOS. So it is naturally very satisfactory that we can actually say that we set the standard of the industry", says Bo Uggerhøj.

Nordic growth

During the last three to four years SOS International has established a solid position in the Nordic countries through an extension of its core business, new products and acquisitions in the Nordic countries. Recently SOS International acquired Danish Euro-Alarm and GMS (Global Medical Support) in Norway.
