For the ninth time SOS International was nominated as the world's best in its field. This year was the fifth time SOS won the prize as the world’s best assistance organisation.
Again this year SOS International was in the absolute top among three finalists at the prestigious ITIJ Industry Awards 2010, which took place on 11 November in Istanbul. SOS was nominated in the category ‘Assistance/Claims Handler of the year’ and carried off the victory ahead of two large international assistance companies. It is the fifth time out of nine that SOS International has been elected the world’s best assistance organisation for travellers with travel insurance.
The prize is the response of the global travel insurance to the Oscar of the film industry. The prize was established in 2002 by the leading global insurance magazine International Travel Insurance Journal, which is read by people of the industry all over the world. Bo Uggerhøj, CEO of SOS International passes the honour of the international fame on to the employees, customers and owners.
- "The employees deserve much praise. The five prizes and nine nominations speak for themselves – day by day and year by year our employees have set the standard for the industry", he says.
- "The summer peak season has been the best so far in the nearly 50 years’ history of the assistance company", Bo Uggerhøj says. The number of calls and cases has beaten all records but at the same time, telephone response times and handling of cases have been close to optimal. Even during the ash cloud crisis this spring, which wore down several call centres, SOS was on top of the situation and the many cases were handled satisfactorily. That is well done by the employees.
- "In addition, we have owners and customers who believe in us. This is the essential reason why we have been able to develop our business, Bo Uggerhøj says. For the fifth time our customers and suppliers have helped us win the category – and for the ninth time out of nine, we have made it to the finals. We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and we look forward to continuing our good cooperation", Bo Uggerhøj says.
