As of the summer peak season 2010 distressed motorists and truck drivers may call roadside assistance and other assistance services all over Norway 24/7 via SOS International’s emergency centre in Oslo. This is a reality after SOS International started cooperating with NAF, Norway's largest road-side assistance provider with 170 stations in its national network. SOS will receive the calls on behalf of Nordic insurance companies, international emergency centres and customers in the car industry and see to it that the assistance is provided in accordance with the service agreement made with the company in question.
"The new agreement is based on the demands and requirements of the customers and the market development that will emerge in the long run," says Anders Söderberg, Managing Director of SOS Technical."Our international customers as well as the customers in the Nordic domestic markets have expressed wishes for Technical Assistance solutions covering the four Nordic countries. We fulfil that wish now."
SOS International is already represented in Norway by its subsidiary SOS Medical/Global Medical Support specialising in medical preparedness and on call medical services for the off shore industry among others.
"The footing we already have in Norway is now being extended with motor assistance," says Bo Uggerhøj, CEO of SOS International. "It is part of our strategy to disseminate SOS’ business concept and product portfolio to all the Nordic countries and with the agreement with NAF and the establishment in Oslo, we have taken another essential step. We get closer to our customers and offer local handling of all the services previously delivered from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki," says Bo Uggerhøj.
According to Anders Söderberg the agreement with NAF does not mean that SOS deviates from its principle about supplier choice.
"As a 100% B2B based, outsourcing partner we focus strongly on loyalty and neutrality. Our tailor-made white label solutions are developed precisely in accordance with the wishes of the customers where SOS, via dedicated telephone numbers, answers calls in the name of the customer and solve the tasks according to agreed rules, conditions and policies," says Anders Söderberg. "If the customer wants a certain salvage supplier, it is OK by us.” It is all about supporting the brand of the customer and delivering high level services around the clock, all year round – no matter where the end-user is," says Anders Söderberg.
Established in 1961, SOS International delivers international and national assistance services in Travel, Technical and Medical areas.
